Four UPM students receive education aid from MB

SHAH ALAM, May 19 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari awarded an RM15,000 scholarship to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) student, Nur Fakhirah Zulfikar Al, in a ceremony at his office here on Tuesday.

The contribution is to fund the studies of the student who is majoring in Diploma in Animal Health and Husbandry at the UPM campus in Bintulu.

Amirudin who is also a UPM alumnus also presented a contribution to three other students from the same campus amounting to RM1,000 each which was given as a one-off payment.

The students are Muhammad Khairin Danish Mohd Khairani, a student majoring in Diploma in Plantation and Food Management; Nur Aziera Asri, Diploma in Management and Plantation and Nur Zahirah Mohd Najmudin, Diploma in Agricultural Management.

In his speech, Amirudin said the assistance was one of his responsibilities as a UPM alumnus to help students at the university achieve success in their life.

“It is in line with the excellent track record shown by UPM today, which continuously achieves success when it is listed as among the best universities not only in Malaysia but also abroad.

“I also hope that the contribution and sponsorship of this scholarship can ease the burden of their family and in turn can help students, especially those from the B40 family to continue their studies successfully,” he said.

In the QS World University Rankings 2022, UPM was ranked 143rd best in the world and second-best in Malaysia.
