SEPANG, July 4 — The process of measuring the boundaries between Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Perak is underway so as to finalise the dividing line, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari
He said so far the process was still in its early stages and involves the land borders of the respective states and territory.
“With Kuala Lumpur, we have signed the first memorandum of understanding (MoU) this will be followed by the measurements on the second and third MoUs.
“Perak has also been completed and are waiting for feedback from our peers there, who may be conducting some research that needs to be done,” Amirudin said.
The Menteri Besar was speaking at the Land Agreement signing ceremony between Selangor and Negeri Sembilan at Hotel Sama-Sama earlier today.
He added the demarcation process involving Kuala Lumpur is expected to take a long time and is complicated since the Federal Territory was formerly part of Selangor.
“Some housing and development that has taken root there will have some measure of impact, but I believe the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (Jupem) has the formula.
“We will see to this once the measurement work has been carried out. The border areas of Ampang, Keramat, Gombak and Selayang have an effect that involves roads and facilities, which we will try to coordinate,” Amirudin said.
