Govt, opposition reps praise RS-1, express confidence in the five-year blueprint — MB

SHAH ALAM, Aug 6 — The First Selangor Plan (RS-1) that was tabled last week has received positive feedback from both government and opposition representatives, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the state representatives were confident with the state government’s capability in implementing the plan for the benefit of the people and Selangor.

In fact, he said, the opposition representatives also praised the bold steps taken by the Selangor government to present a detailed five-year development plan in the state.

“This proves our accountabilities in offering something (to the people) based on the accurate facts, figures and data,” he said during the Bicara Bernama TV talk show last night.

However, he admitted there were several concerns raised by the opposition representatives on the effectiveness of the plan.

“That is normal. The opposition has raised the possibility of the failure to achieve (the plan) and the ability to implement it, in addition to whether the projections given were realistic, pragmatic or not.

“However, on average, most of them (opposition) gave feedback that RS-1 is an example of what a government should do which is by offering (benefits) to its people and not just mentioning it (promises) in a bombastic or propaganda statement,” he said.

On August 2, the Selangor State Legislative Assembly approved the RS-1 development plan motion amounting to RM212.44 billion after it was agreed by all state assemblymen and debated by 28 elected representatives.
