MB invites more traders to join Plats, over 14,000 have received benefits

SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — Traders and small hawkers in the state have been invited to join the Selangor Platform (Plats) to digitalise and expand their business network.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said those interested in joining the digital platform can register at www.platselangor.com.

“As of now, a total of 14,470 traders have benefitted and made profits through Plats, compared to 10,045 who registered last year.

“This indicates that Plats is able to expand the market for traders’ products by getting them more customers and doubling their sales,” he said in a Facebook post.

Plats was first introduced during the month of Ramadan two years ago, to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem with a digital platform, following the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to help traders generate continuous income instead of only being limited to the fasting month.

Plats 3.0 was again continued this April, with a collaboration between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad, Rakan Digital Selangor, and the state’s 12 local authorities.
