KUALA SELANGOR, Oct 11 — Some 348 low-income families in the Jeram state constituency have been provided with Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) aid, totalling to RM3,600 a year.
Constituency coordinator Nagmudin Hussain said of this figure, 300 have received monthly benefits of up to RM300.
“The remaining 48 families are still being identified, given the strict vetting process. Only families truly facing problems qualify, as we have reached 1,000 applications.
“Village heads play a role in inspecting applicants’ homes. Priority is also given to families with dependents like disabled persons,” he said.
Nagmudin was speaking at the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat roadshow, held at Dewan MDKS Desa Coalfield in Sungai Buloh, earlier today.
Bingkas is part of Iltizam Selangor Penyayang’s 44 incentives, launched at the end of June and set to benefit up to 30,000 households involving a RM108 million allocation.
On August 1, state executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said Bingkas will be distributed via the Wavpay e-wallet, for the ease and convenience of its recipients.
