SHAH ALAM, Dec 5 — The name of His Highness Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah has been immortalised on an orchid flower species.
The orchid flower, known as ‘Papilionanda Tengku Amir Shah’ was presented by Shah Alam deputy mayor Mohd Rashidi Ruslan at the Selangor FC Soccer Schools Carnival at Padang Bola Sintetik, in Section 28, here yesterday.
The Shah Alam City Council on Facebook said, the deputy mayor handed over a gift of appreciation to His Highness in the form of an orchid flower international registration certificate.
“The chosen species of orchid flower was named ‘Papilionanda Tengku Amir Shah’ and presented to His Highness in conjunction with the Raja Muda of Selangor’s 32nd birthday on December 12,” the local council said.
Also present during the event were state executive councillor for sports Mohd Khairuddin Othman, Selangor State Education director Rohayati Abd Hamed and Selangor Football Association chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon.
Earlier on, Tengku Amir Shah had officiated the football field and handed over gifts of appreciation to sponsors and official partners of Selangor FC Soccer School.
