KLANG, Dec 11 — KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir is determined to continue providing the best service to the people in Selangor.
He described the conferment of the Darjah Kebesaran Dato’ Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah (D.S.I.S) as not only meant for him but also as a gift to all KDEBWM employees.
“On behalf of KDEBWM employees, I am touched, happy and content with this award and will ensure the waste management company would continue giving the best service to Selangor citizens.
“Thank you to my family for their understanding when I have to go back home late at night, especially when Selangor was hit by floods disasters,” he said.
Ramli, who has been working with KDEBWM for 16 years added that the recognition has motivated him to give his best.
Earlier, Ramli was among 11 D.S.I.S recipients to be conferred with the award, which carries the title ‘Datuk’ in conjunction with the 77th birthday of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, at Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, here today.
Meanwhile, Selangor Fire and Rescue director Datuk Norazam Khamis described the conferment as the highest recognition for the safety and rescue team.
“I am grateful for the award from the Sultan of Selangor. This is the highest recognition ever received by a top Selangor fire officer.
“As a rescue team, we will continue to give our best service regardless of any disasters,” he added.
His Royal Highness Sultan of Selangor conferred state awards and medals to 104 recipients.
International Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz heads the list of recipients and was conferred the Darjah Kebesaran Seri Paduka Mahkota Selangor (S.P.M.S.), which carries the title ‘Datuk Seri’.
