GOMBAK, Dec 13 — The state government will assist seven Smart Selangor Bus passengers with their insurance claims, following their injuries in an accident on Saturday (December 10) at Jalan Kuala Selangor Batu 16 in Sungai Pelong.

In the wake of the unfortunate incident, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari apologised to the families of the victims on behalf of the state government.

“We have apologised to the victims’ families. InsyaAllah, we will try to get the insurance claims for all victims.

“All of the victims are still hospitalised, with several having sustained severe injuries,” he said after meeting with the Desa Pendidik Keramat Permai AU1C residents in Hulu Kelang yesterday.

Commenting further, the Gombak MP said he is waiting for full reports from the police, who are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.

“We have to investigate why the accident occurred, either due to the driver’s negligence, engine failures, or road problems.

“The police are still investigating, it is too early to determine the cause and I want to get accurate information. InsyaAllah, the state will provide updates on the matter accordingly,” he said.

The accident occured at 8.45pm, involving a Selangor Smart Bus that was operating under the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS).

All passengers, including two injured children, were immediately taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for follow-up treatment.
