MBSJ tests new traffic light intersection to overcome congestion in Puchong Jaya

By Diana Abd Wahab

SHAH ALAM, Jan 2 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) implemented a trial period for the traffic lights at the intersection of Jalan Pipit to Jalan Merbuk in Puchong from yesterday until January 13.

The local authority said the move is an extension of the road junction upgrade works in Bandar Puchong Jaya which was completed on December 18.

“MBSJ implemented a trial period for the new traffic light intersection to obtain appropriate and optimal time phase system for the traffic flow in the area,” it said in a Facebook post.

Therefore, road users are asked to obey the signs and management of the traffic system instructions to ensure smooth traffic flow in the area.

In May 2023, the state government allocated RM400,000 to develop infrastructure projects in the area to reduce traffic congestion faced by residents.

Two traffic light intersections resulting in congestion there have been upgraded to only one intersection and is expected to solve up to 80 per cent of traffic problems in the area.
