SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — The state government is organising a home decoration competition for the new village community in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebrations this month.

State executive councillor for new village development Ng Sze Han said the competition involves three main categories and offers lucrative prizes.

“This is the fourth time it has been organised. Through this competition, it can enliven the celebration as well as strengthen the relationships between local leaders and the people.

“At the same time, this programme is a platform or an opportunity for residents to place their complaints about any problems encountered, so that immediate action can be taken,” said Ng Sze Han when met at a friendly ceremony with the New Village’s Village Community Management Council yesterday.

In the event, Ng also took part in the tradition of tossing Yee Sang together with several representatives including Pandamaran assemblyman Tony Leong Tuck Chee and assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat (Rawang).
