SHAH ALAM, Jan 18 — The Selangor Women’s Welfare and Charity Organisation (Pekawanis) will be organising a Mother’s Day programme as part of its effort to cherish a mom’s sacrifices.

Its president Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad said Pekawanis has aimed to include 1,000 mothers from each constituency in the programme.

“Before this, we channelled some allocation to each constituency to organise the Mother’s Day celebration, however, this year, we planned to gather the mom’s group for a celebration.

“Through the programme, we also planned to select a mother figure among them and the selection will be based on several criteria,” she said when met after handing over donations in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration at the Menteri Besar’s official residence, here yesterday.

Meanwhile, commenting on Pekawanis activities this year, Masdiana said they are actively organising various activities which focus on the women, youth and less-fortunate groups.

Among the programmes include a multimedia workshop that will be held in collaboration with Universiti Selangor as well as distribution of ‘bubur lambuk’ and Hari Raya Aidilfitri donations.
