SHAH ALAM, March 3 — The Selangor Civil Defence Force (APM) has dispatched its Disaster Support Response Team (Paras) to assist flood victims in Johor.
Its Public Relations and Documentation Unit said a total of 14 members, consisting of one officer and 13 staff of other ranks, headed south of the country on Wednesday (March 1).
“The assets that have been mobilised include a Man lorry, two aluminium boats, and a four-wheel drive vehicle.
“We pray for everything to be made easier for the officers who are assisting helping the flood victims there,” APM said in a Facebook post yesterday.
As of yesterday, approximately 25,213 flood victims were recorded in Johor across 10 districts, with Segamat being the worst-affected.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) also announced that several areas in Johor and Pahang are expected to be affected by continuous heavy rainfall until tomorrow.
