SHAH ALAM, March 29 — More than 340 residents of Pangsapuri Sri Aman, Petaling Jaya, received shopping vouchers worth RM100 from the Kampung Tunku state representative on Saturday.

State assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the effort was initiated in 2019 in collaboration with the local councillor for zone 19 of the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council, Nalina Nair.

“The programme started in 2019 along with former local councillor Farhan Haziq. We are aware that many families cannot afford the living costs here, therefore we provide this assistance annually.

“The contribution is channelled to the families regardless of race and it is taken the allocation (of my state constituency) and that of the local councillors,” she told SelangorKini.

At the programme, each family also received a box of dates, which was distributed by Damansara MP Gobind Singh Deo.

Lim added that information on the Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) and Bantuan Kehidupan Sejahtera Selangor (Bingkas) initiatives were also shared with the residents.
