TUARAN, Dec 31 — Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said he does not want to waste time dealing with excessive politics or unnecessary matters as he is only interested in focusing on fulfilling the mandate given by the people.
Hajiji said he was aware that some disliked or criticised him, but as chief minister, efforts to develop Sabah and assist the people take precedence over responding to unwarranted issues raised by certain parties.
“I am aware that when appointed chief minister, I have bigger responsibilities to handle. I have to think for the greater good of Sabah,” he said when attending a Christmas event in Kampung Dungang, here, yesterday.
Meanwhile, Hajiji said his busy schedule as the chief minister was not an excuse for him not to meet with the people, especially in Tuaran and also Sulaman, where he is the elected representative.
Hajiji also said he loved attending meet-and-greet sessions with his constituents.
“I have a strong affinity with the people of this district. If there is anything that you need, let me know, don’t hesitate or feel shy,” he said.
