SHAH ALAM, AUG 18: The Air Pollutant Index (API) for several areas in the country, including Selangor, recorded moderate readings as of 11am today.
According to the Environmental Department’s website, 27 areas have moderate API levels.
In Selangor, the four areas that recorded moderate API are Banting (54), Kuala Selangor (61), Pelabuhan Klang (65) and Shah Alam (57), while Petaling Jaya is at a Good level at an API reading of 50.
Other areas that recorded moderate API levels are in the Federal Territory, such as Batu Muda (53), Cheras (53) and Putrajaya (60).
API readings between 0-50 are categorised as Good, 51-100 (Moderate), 101-200 (Unhealthy); 201-300 (Very Unhealthy) dan 301-400 as Hazardous.
The public can refer to the portal http://www.doe.gov.my to find out the current API readings at various areas.
