AMPANG, April 26 — Close to RM70,000 in financial aid was distributed to asnaf (tithe recipients) in the Hulu Langat area today, in conjunction with the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor tour of the district.

The aid, which was courtesy of the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS), was presented by Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah at Masjid Al-Ubudiah, Kampung Tasek Tambahan and involved medical financing assistance.

During the same event, His Highness, accompanied by state executive councillor for Islam Dr Fahmi Ngah and state executive councillor for unity Datuk Rizam Ismail, also presented duit raya to some 30 orphans.

He then performed Friday prayers at the mosque before spending time mingling with residents who attended the Kenduri Rakyat programme here.

Tengku Amir Shah has visited various locations since beginning his Hulu Langat’s Gagasan Rumpun Selangor tour on Wednesday.

Various interesting programmes were lined up at each location such as football clinics, walkabout with Selangor FC players, silat, cultural performances and busking.

Gagasan Rumpun Selangor is a state grassroots initiative that aims to foster unity and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage in Selangor.

It stands as a key framework to unify the populace and subsequently propel the state’s socioeconomic development.

Previously, when tabling the 2024 Selangor Budget, Amirudin announced an allocation of RM4.5 million to ensure the successful implementation of the Gagasan Rumpun Selangor in all nine districts.
