SHAH ALAM, AUG 4: The unique Hutan Lipur Kanching, with its seven waterfalls, is a premier eco-tourism destination in Selangor.
Selangor Tourism General Manager Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said that each waterfall has its own pond that is beautiful and suitable for swimming and water activities.
She further added that Tourism Selangor will intensify its promotion based on market demand, and study the preferred product desired by tourists.
“Eco-tourism in Selangor has continued to prosper. We have even received a project to increase tourism in Hutan Lipur Kancing.
“The area is becoming the focus of international tourists, especially from the Middle East who come and see its uniqueness for themselves,” she told SelangorKini at the Tourism Selangor Open House at the Grand Ballroom of De Palma Hotel, Shah Alam, here, on August 4.
Hutan Lipur Kanching is located at Kanching Forest Reserve, which is approximately 2 kilometres from Templer Park.
Also present were Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali dan Selangor state excos.
At the same time Noorul Ashikin said that several initiatives have been implemented this year to achieve the target of 7.2 million tourists to Selangor.
She said that Selangor Tourism has managed to attract 7.1 million tourists last year compared to the targeted 7 million.
“I hope that with the hard work of many parties in the industry in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, tourism in this state will be enhanced.
“This year alone, we are implementing nine major events, one of which is the World Indigenous People Festival on August 6 and 7,” she said.
