MB: State’s reserve reach RM3.95 billion

SHAH ALAM, AUG 1: The state’s financial reserve is in a stable position at RM3.95 million.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the current reserve is a 21.24% increase, compared to RM3.258 million recorded in December 31, 2015.
He added that the amount was based on data on July 15, 2016.
This was in response to Yeo Bee Yin (DAP – Damansara Utama), who requested for the state’s current financial reserve status.

Mohamed Azmin (KEADILAN-Bukit Antarabangsa) said, Selangor’s reserve had increased to its current status from RM1.6 billion in 2010.
“The State’s reserve was RM1.9 billion in 2011, RM2.6 billion in 2012, RM2.9 billion in 2013, RM3.2 billion in 2014 and RM3.3 billion in 2015,” he said.
He also said that as of July 15, 2016, the State Government had spent a total of RM756.45 million in operational costs, which is 52% of the 2016 State Budget.
He also added the State Government paid a total of RM15.74 million for Goods and Service Tax (GST) as of December 31, 2015.
“In 2016, from January 1 to June 31, the State Government paid a total of RM10.2 million for GST,” he said.
