Olympics: ‘The Pocket Rocket Man’ wins bronze

RIO DE JANEIRO, AUG 17: National keirin expert, Azizulhasni Awang created history by becoming the first national rider to win a medal in the Olympics when he won the bronze at the Rio Olympic Velodrome.
The achievement is even more meaningful to the 28-year-old rider nicknamed ‘The Pocket Rocket Man’ after failing at Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
Azizulhasni’s bronze is the second medal won by the Malaysian contigent after national divers, Pandelela Rinong and Cheong Jun Hoon won silver for the women’s 10m synchronised platform diving event.
The race, which had two false starts, was won by Jason Kenny from Britain. It was his third gold medal in this year’s games.
Second place went to Dutch rider, Matthijs Buchli.
