Increase civil servants’ productivity to raise quality for Selangor’s progress

BY: HAFIZAN TAIB
SHAH ALAM, SEP 19: Civil servants in Selangor are required to increase their productivity and service quality for the progress and prosperity of the state.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said they need to be more knowledgable, productive and competitive in their roles and jobs, to meet current demands and challenges.
He said they need to dismiss the ‘myth’ often associated with civil servants, that they merely attend work at 8 am and leave by 4 pm.

“In fact, we must get rid of this myth because we are certain that they possess great potential and a wide variety of skills and strengths that can be leveraged on.
“Civil servants should not just carry out their duties as chartered, they must provide services by polishing their potential,” he said after the Monthly Selangor Government Departments Meeting cum SUK Selangor Flag Handover Ceremony ke Kejohanan SUK SeMalaysia, here, on September 19.
He said that participation in the SUK SeMalaysia championship, through such a big contingent, reflects Selangor’s sportsmanship and discipline that help in providing great public services in the state.
“In this matter, I, together with members of the civil servants will look into how we can polish our potential and talents to make Selangor a progressive and prosperous state,” he said.
