KUALA LUMPUR, OCT 5: Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) emphasises the correct use of the National Language in all its matters, including dealings with the public and relevant parties in its administration.
Yang Dipertua Abdul Hamid Hussain said prioritising the national language has become a standard practice for him and he tries to raise public awareness on the matter.
“In conjunction with National Language month, we try to use the national language correctly.
“If we find advertisers and other parties who use the National Language improperly or incorrectly, we will notify them accordingly.
“We will enforce if we need to,” he said to the media.
He was speaking after the MPAJ Monthly Assembly and launching of the MPAJ Integrity Day and Language Month on October 5.
Commenting further, he said that local authorities are working with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) to meet set goals.
“DBP can advise us and the public accordingly, in order for us to use the language correctly,” he said.
