SHAH ALAM, JAN 30: Chempaka Assemblyman, Dato’ Iskandar Samad wants the police and Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) to explain the party held by foreigners recently which he described similar to a ‘dangdut’ party.
He said that he was worried that function could result in a clash between the locals and foreigners.
“I was never informed of this function and I only knew about it when I received complaints from residents and the Kampung Pandan Village Development and Security Association.

“These kind of functions cannot be held because it disturbs the peace and harmony among the villagers and these must be maintained,” he said in a statement.
As such, Dato’ Iskandar wants the police and MPAJ to constantly monitor so that such incident does not recur.
Meanwhile, the Kampung Pandan Village Head, Abu Hanifah Abdul Rahman said, those foreigners had also constructed a stage in the open space of that area.
“They also had karaoke and loud music until late at night. The function was held for two days until yesterday,” he said.
Abu Hanifah said he lodged reports to the police and MPAJ for further action.
“The same thing happened before this at a night-market near a supermarket. They held a big party, and danced in public,” he said.
