SHAH ALAM, JAN 26: The public now has the convenience of the ‘Flexi Parking’ carpark payment system in Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) area of administration.
MBSA Corporate and Public Relations Head Shahrin Ahmad said the system uses smartphones as an alternative payment method, besides scratch-coupons and monthly passes.
He said this is among initiatives to improve carpark management and become more efficient and systematic.
“The public can purchase credit online via internet banking using their smartphones. Flexi Parking facilitates payment process without displaying scratch-coupons or monthly passes.
“It ultimately reduces complaints on difficulties in obtaining coupons, wrongly scratching the coupons and having too many coupon books,” he said.
The Flexi Parking application can be downloaded for free in Android Play Store or Apple Apps Store, and is multi-lingual.
Shahrin said users will be reminded ten minutes in advance, before the parking period ends.
“Flexi Parking does not merely reduce the use of paper, it also fully employs current technology to its fullest, facilitates consumers and the authorities, as well as increases service quality.
“This system is also consistent with the State Government’s plan to turn Selangor into a Smart State by 2015,” he said.
