“The same goes with the donation of Global Positioning System (GPS) costing between RM1,000 to RM2,000. Many fishermen need and want to use it but are unable to afford it, hence they are very grateful for the help,” he said.
Zaidy gave out the donation to 200 recipients in the Fishermen and Aquaculture Aid Distribution Programme for Kuala Langat and Sepang District. The ceremony today was also attended by Tanjung Sepat Assemblyman, If Mohd Haslin Hassan.
He said, this is a part of the aid programme distributed to all districts in Selangor for relevant groups such as farmers and fishermen including aquaculture entrepreneurs.
“This programme is a continuation from last year, where selection was made and the aid continues until this year. Meanwhile, applications received this year is still being processed.
“Last year, we donated RM1.6 million, distributed by district. Last week, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali himself gave out the donation in Morib,” he said.
