Political maturity needed for a prosperous Malaysia

OLEH ERMIZI MUHAMAD
BENTONG, FEB 4: KEADILAN Deputy President Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali hoped that political parties in the country would be more progressive towards maturity to be able to build a prosperous nation.
He said the principle of consensus needs to be the main core with the aim of saving Malaysia from the corrupt leadership in Putrajaya.
“If we show a matured attitude and place the priority on saving the country, I am confident that the rakyat will be with us during the elections,” he said.
Although there are differences in opinion, Mohamad Azmin said tolerance must be practised in accordance to democratic principles that all opposition component parties have been fighting for.
Mohamed Azmin, who is also Dato’ Menteri Besar said that all conflicts would only bring about uncertainty and undermind political values.
“Democracy is a noisy and loud process. There are discussions, there is give and take and that is what is democracy.
“We can sit down and talk and discuss about how to save this nation that we love.
“But if we fail, do not blame the rakyat,” he added.
Mohamed Azmin said this during the Tea with Dato’ Menteri Besar programme at Bentong today.
Those who attended included Pakatan Harapan Secretariat Chief Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, KEADILAN Pahang Chairman Datuk Abdul Rahman and DAP Pahang Chairman Liong Nga Nga.
