Illegal additional structures in 6 premises demolished by MBSA

SHAH ALAM, MARCH 14: Six premises in Section 7, here identified to build additional structures and alterations without permission of Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) subject to demolition.
Head of Corporate and Public Affairs MBSA, Shahrin Ahmad said, the premises are among the eight premises that were given notice since last February.
He said that the building of additional structures causes difficulty for MBSA cleaning contractors other than disrupting the operations of garbage truck.
“MBSA has given notice to eight premises, two of whom have been demolished but six of the premises still refuse.
“Any additional structures are not permitted except with the approval of MBSA. It is an offense under the provisions of the Street, Drainage and Building Act (Act 133), “he said.
Shahrin said other than public routes disrupted, it can also create problems when cleaning clogged drains and cause other health related problems.
The operation involved two bulldozers with the strength of 71 members of the Enforcement Department, the Department of Licensing, Corporate Department and Buildings Department.
