RM41 million outstanding compounds, MPAJ offer discount

SHAH ALAM, MARCH 17: A total of RM41 million, involving 738.449 arrears compounds highway vehicle owners still have not been paid to the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) since 13 years ago.
Yang Dipertuan MPAJ, Abd Hamid Hussain said that the arrears are in the period of 2003 to 2016.
“From the total, 1,700 car owners have arrears for more than 50 compounds for each vehicle that is in total of RM8.5 million.
“Therefore, MPAJ implement a compound car park cost reduction campaign from 1 February to 31 May,” reported Sinar Harian.

He said the campaign was to provide opportunities for people with compound arrears to settle before action is taken.
“A reduction of RM30 for outstanding compound arrears, and RM10 for a compound that is less than 14 days from the date of issue.
“Vehicles owner are urged to complete the compound during the campaign period before further action is taken such as towing operations and lock the tire on a vehicle that is still stubbornly to complete the compound,” he said.
