Hishammuddin’s appointment Najib’s tactic to remain as PM?

SHAH ALAM, APR 13:  Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is seen to have lost his faith in his deputy, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his right-hand men like Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak and Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
DAP Parliamentary Leader, Lim Kit Siang said that based on recent development where Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein was appointed as Minister of Special Functions in the Prime Minister’s Department.
“This is a failure of the new propaganda attack launched after Umno went through a ‘cleansing’ in July 2015, where a new Deputy Prime Minister and BN Media Strategic Director were appointed,” he said in a media statement.
Lim said that Hishamuddin’s appointment in the Prime Minister’s Department is seen as Najib’s move to retain his power.
The move ensure that the Prime Minister remains in power by protecting himself from being removed whether through election or internal rebellion in Umno.
According to him, Hishammuddin is the tenth minister appointed by Najib Razak and his team, who will be the most important minister in the Cabinet and is allegedly the de facto Deputy Prime Minister – a position currently held by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
“I expect Hishammudin will lead Umno-BN’s campaign in the 14th General Election to ensure Umno-BN remain in Putrajaya and Najib Razak stays as Prime Minister of Malaysia,” he said.
