MBSA Smart Selangor Bus recorded over a million passengers

SHAH ALAM, APR 19: The Smart Selangor Bus service in the Shah Alam City Council’s (MBSA) jurisdiction is receiving encouraging response, recording over 1 million passengers thus far.
MBSA Head of Corporate and Public Relations, Shahrin Ahmad said, the first route has recorded 1.2 million passengers, from July 15, 2015 until last February 28.
He said, the second and third routes which started operation on November 1, 2016 recorded 48,745 and 88,519 passengers respectively.
“Through this service, MBSA hopes to help to reduce the burden for those in need, due to the increasing cost of living.
“At the same time, we can also encourage the use of public transportation and reduce personal vehicles that release carbon monoxide gas.
“This would ultimately support Shah Alam in its aim to achieve low-carbon city status by 2030,” he said to SelangorKini.
The first MBSA Smart Selangor Bus route starts from Shah Alam Commuter Station and passes State Government Secretary’s Building (SUK), Seksyen 6 Market, University of Selangor (UNISEL), Jakel and Shah Alam Hospital.
The second route starts from City Centre Stop, Seksyen 14 and passes Wisma MBSA, Plaza Shah Alam, Shah Alam Aquatic Centre, Lembaga Zakat Selangor, AEON Mall, Giant Supermarket, Shah Alam Polytechnic and Batu 3 Commuter Station.
Meanwhile, the third route also starts from Shah Alam Commuter Station and it passes Commercial Centre 18, Terminal 17, Special Vocational Secondary School, PKNS Flat 24 and Persiaran Jubli Perak.
