The 26 year wait ended with a surprise

GOMBAK, APRIL 28: The patience of 1,642 residential owners of Pangsapuri Pinggiran Batu Caves for 26 years for strata title finally getting rewarded with a surprise when the State Government contributes fund to cover the cost of surveyors and lawyers.
Chairman of Pangsapuri Pinggiran Batu Caves Residents Association Phase 2, Che Hamid Che Jusoh said the State Government’s contribution through Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) gives a huge meaning to the residents.
“The residents of Pinggiran Batu Caves were surprised and did not expect the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) payment is fully funded by the State Government. Thank you to Dato’ Menteri Besar.
“At first stage announced that each unit is funded around RM1,000 but I was informed that the State Government to finance the entire cost of this transfer of strata titles including surveyors and lawyers.
“This aid is very significant and we felt very lucky,” he told SelangorKini when at the Majlis Penyerahan Sumbangan MOT at Land and Mines Office Gombak, here, yesterday.

Che Hamid said strata ownership transfer process is expected to be completed in three to four months.
Meanwhile, Member of the Management Corporation Pangsapuri Batu Caves Block A, B, C and D, Amir Salleh said that, other than the low cost units, the middle low unit owners also feel overwhelmed receiving the aid from the State Government.
“Thank you for the concerned shown by the State Government as the people here are not wealthy people and this help certainly appreciated.
“I also ask the State Government to review the tax assessment for the medium low cost houses as units of this category is not expensive, some costing RM70,000 only, and the standard of living of the residents with low cost houses also the same ” he said.
