BY AFIX REDZUAN
SHAH ALAM, MAY 16: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) took stren action on 23 buildings with no permit on a co-owned property in the vicinity of Pangsapuri Sri Bayu and Sri Angkasa.
MPK Secretary, Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi said the action was taken as stipulated in Drain, Road and Building Act (Act 133) after the matter was brought into the Housing, Building Management and Illegal Contsruction Committee Meeting.
“The premises are not only without license but they have caused many problems such as parking spaces becoming small due to roofs being rampantly joint and some owners have placed things under the structures they have built.
“Besides that, the premises have caused the location to be unmanageable as a part of the parking space have been turned into hawker area and some even employ immigrants to work there,” he said.
He said, the demolition was coordinated by the Department of Buildings on additional structures built outside the owners’ boundaries.
Besides that, the demolition had to be done due to unmonitored electrical connections which can threaten the safety and lives of residents in nearby blocks.
