SHAH ALAM – At least 30,465 women above the age of 35 have benefitted from the Selangor Free Mammogram Screening Scheme (MammoSEL) so far.
The latest statistics under the Inisiatif Peduli Rayat (IPR) has shown that over RM3.4 million has been spent for the programme.
The Selangor Women Health Scheme was established as State Government’s initiative to prove that women are important assets in the development of a state and a country.
Among the campaigns under the Women Health Scheme is ‘1 Juta Wanita Selangor Sihat’ by providing free Mammogram for women in Selangor aged 35 and above.
The free MammoSEL programme was launched on November 6, 2010, in Hulu Langat in conjunction with the state’s 2010 Rural Women’s Day Celebration which is aimed to provide free mammogram screening to all women in the state.
The programme was improved beginning 2016 with an additional follow-up ultrasound treatment if required as advised by the doctor.
To register, the public can get more information from the nearest State Legislative Assembly Service Centre.
