MB: Bomba understands

BY LIZAWATI MADFA
SHAH ALAM, JUL 5: Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the issue of premium for the construction site for the Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station should be turned into an issue.
The Dato’ Menteri Besar said, any premium charged by the State Government is according to the circular issued by Federal Government.
“Yesterday I have met with Selangor Bomba Director together with other senior offcials and I have clarified on this.
“They understand that there is no issue on this as the circular clearly states that nominal premiums are only charged for hospitals and schools,” he said to reporters.
He said that in response to the statement by the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister, Tan Sri Noh Omar, that building of the bomba station is delayed due to a high premium.
Commenting further, Mohamed Azmin said, Bomba also understands the financial limitations faced by Federal Government to implement the Setia Alam project.
“It’s okay, bomba understands as they also have their own land but cannot be developed yet as the Federal Government has no budget,” he said.

The State Government has considered land ownership transfer to federal Government for bomba and police stations be charged a premium at a quarter of the market rate while land for schools will be charged a nominal premium of RM1,000.
The above is according to the 1997 PTGS Circular No 3 and is being practiced in all states, according to decision by the National Land Council.
