MRT vandalism: PRASARANA has ‘wardens’ in plain clothes

SHAH ALAM, JUL 27: Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (PRASARANA) has mobilized a special team in plain clothes at all Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations to monitor any act of vandalism.
A spokesperson for PRASARANA said, close-circuit television (CCTV) cameras installed at every station are also able to capture actions of vandalisers.
“Monitoring and control in all MRT stations are at the optimum level nonetheless we are emphasize more on passengers’ safety and comfort,” he said as reported by Harian Metro.
For the record, there are 3,692 CCTV in operation for 24 hours at all the MRT stations.

There have been several vandalism cases reported earlier which had cause damage to the facilities such as the seat and walls in several stations including the irresponsible attitude of certain people who throws rubbish indiscrimately.
“We don’t wait too long to take action upon receiving complains from the public regarding vandalism,” he said.
