BY NAZLI IBRAHIM
SHAH ALAM, AUG 4: The State Government has allocated RM1 million to Selangor University (UNISEL) to fund students’ volunteer activities in 2017.
UNISEL Students’ Development and Community Network Deputy Chancellor, Profesor Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin said UNISEL has spent RM500,000 so far to fund various activities.
“In January’s semester alone, 120 CAKNA programmes funded by Menteri Besar Incorporate (MBI) were successfully run, involving RM250,000 for the first quarter.

“Then, in the second quarter, MBI channeled another RM250,000 to develop student volunteering activities particularly for UNISEL,” he said during the Memorandum of Understanding between UNISEL and GPM Signing Ceremony at the Shah Alam Campus yesterday.
That clearly showed the strong support that State Government is giving to UNISEL and its management for all its students’ activities.
Shaharudin also took the opportunity to congratulate UNISEL students on the success of their activities this year.
He welcomed and encouraged non-governmental organisations (NGO) to also collaborate in these volunteer programmes.
