BY HAFIZAN TAIB
BANDAR SERI PUTRA, OCT 9: The Selangor International Islamic University College (KUIS) new academic building construction, starting last September 7, cost approximately RM27.2 million and is expected to be complete in two years.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the State Government is concern on the project development and has asked the Public Works Department (JKR) and KUIS to monitor the progress.
“We want to ensure the project is strictly on schedule without any delay that will cost more.
“This must avoided at all cost,” he said to media after the KUIS New Academic Building Ground Breaking Ceremony, today.
Similar to other State Government-owned higher institutions, he said that Selangor Government also gives flexible loans to KUIS to stimulate its growth and progress this year.

“We are giving RM42 million for development including this new building while the rest is to upgrade other facilities,” he said.
The new three-storey academic building will accommodate 4,254 students at any one time, with facilities such as tutorial rooms, seminar rooms, lecturers and programme heads’ rooms, computer laboratories and lecture halls that can accommodate up to 200 to 500 students.
This will reduce the problem of limited tutorial and lecture rooms due to increasing student numbers each year and it will meet the need for a conducive learning and teaching environment for the students’ comfort.
