MB: Maintaining a peaceful Selangor

KLANG – Selangor Menteri Besar, Amirudin Shari, said his department and state administration would ensure that the multiracial people of Selangor continue to live safely and peacefully.

He said the Selangor Government would never tolerate any elements that would jeopardize peace and security in the state.

“The state administration and the state will ensure the state’s solidarity for the people.

“All forms of racial or religious chauvinism have no place in this cosmopolitan Selangor,” he said.

This was said by Amirudin while presenting the Taat Setia speech while flanked by two Selangor EXCO; Hee Loy Sian, representing the Chinese and V Ganabatirau, representing the Indians in conjunction with the Istiadat Pengurniaan Darjah Dan Bintang Kebesaran Negeri Selangor Darul Ehsan in lieu of the 73rd birthday anniversary of Duli Yang Maha Mulia (DYMM) Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at  Rungseri Hall, Istana Alam Shah yesterday.

Also present at the ceremony were DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Duli Yang Teramat Mulia (DYTM) Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah.

During the speech, Amirudin said Selangor continued to record its success as it continues to be the main contributor to Malaysia’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by 23 per cent in 2017, an increase from 22.7 per cent in the previous year.

He said the achievement was fueled by strong financial standing besides Selangor being the destination of domestic and foreign investors.

In addition, the State Government also intends to open an art gallery that will house the works of renowned artists from the Southeast Asian region as well as provide space for local artists.
