ATMA Cherished Vestiges of Myths

Sutra House

The Sutra Foundation presented its 16th and last exhibition titled ATMA last week, an Exhibition of Mixed Media Prints by Sivarajah Natarajan. Inspired by local myths and culture, Sivarajah explores and experiments with myth making through textured digital mixed media prints for the first time. This marks the first time that Sivarajah produces works using the mixed media digital print technique. Though Sivarajah is one of Malaysia’s leading lighting designers, he has always considered himself a visual artist first, albeit a rare one who’s remarkable figurative works have always been inspired by theatre and the performing arts. ATMA Cherished Vestiges of Myths will introduce to you classic and familiar elements such as in Gadis Lampung, Yogi with White Flower and Harapan (I & II), with the latter even featuring the 7th Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammad, under an exciting new light and technique. The result is a collection of evocative images of sheer mystery and exquisite beauty.

Located amongst the trees and bushes surrounding Sutra House, Sutra Gallery will continue to host the exhibition until the 31st of December 2018.
