26 Shah Alam Areas to Experience Water Disturbance

SHAH ALAM – At least 26 areas around Shah Alam will suffer from water disruption in stages from 2 pm this evening.

Selangor Water Management and Customer Relations Department Head, Abdul Raof Ahmad said the disruption was due to equipment damage on one of the main pumps at Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase Three (SSP3).

He said among the affected areas were Taman Putra Mas, Bukit Kuda and Jalan Batu Tiga Lama and Section 2 to 25 except Section 21 and 22.

“Therefore, the affected customers are advised to store enough water supplies and we will move water tankers to the area,” said Abdul Raof.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and take all necessary action to mitigate the impact of the disruption and accelerate the recovery,” he said in a statement.

Previously, Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS) was in the process of overcoming the damage.

The damage caused a reduction of treated water distribution of 40 million liters per day (JLH) and a decrease in pool level.
