RM 1.8 Mil Allocated to Upgrade Kota Raja Facilities

KLANG – A sum of RM 1.8 million has been allocated by the Kota Raja Parliament to upgrade several building facilities such as schools, clinics and the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in the area.

Malaysian Defense Minister Mohamad Sabu said the number had been distributed to 45 schools, two health clinics, five neighboring areas, five residents’ associations and five local MPKKs.

He said he was optimistic that the distribution of the assets would be able to help with the small amount of hardship faced by students and the surrounding population.

“In schools, we provide for the repairs and improvements of equipment, thus creating a conducive environment while ensuring the safety of students and teachers,” he said.

“Meanwhile, here (Bukit Naga Health Clinic) we donated 30 waiting chairs, two tents and a set of children’s toys,” he added.

“I hope this contribution will ease the burden faced by clinical management and provide comfort to patients who are waiting for treatment.”

He said this during the Media Friendly Project Submission and Launch of the Paralympic Clinic Programme at Kota Raja Parliament, at Bukit Naga Health Clinic, here on 1 August.

Also present were EXCO of Health, Welfare, Women and Family Empowerment, Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud; EXCO of Infrastructure and Public Facilities, Modernization of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry, Ir Izham Hashim; EXCO of Economic Empowerment and Development and Concerned Government, V Ganabatirau and Kandis River State Assemblyman Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni.

Meanwhile, Mohamad said he would try again to help upgrade some of the facilities in the Kota Raja Parliament as there were many applications.

“We will look to the need from time to time and if necessary we will try to provide for the upgrading of facilities here,” he said.
