#Selangor2020 allocates total expenditure of RM2.33 billion

SHAH ALAM, Nov 1 — Belanjawan Selangor 2020 (Selangor Budget 2020) will allocate a total expenditure of RM2.33 billion with an estimated deficit of RM133 million, which is RM227 million lower than the RM360 million deficit in last year’s budget.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari when tabling Belanjawan Selangor 2020 today said the budget comprises of Operating Expenditure of RM1.20 billion or 51.44 per cent and Development Expenditure of RM1.13 billion or 48.56 per cent.

“The practice of prudent spending, strengthened work culture with integrity and reducing wastage and leakages in the past budget had successfully lowered the deficit at a reasonable amount,” he said when tabling the 2020 budget, themed “Selangor Premium State, Life Uplifted”, at the Selangor state legislative assembly here today.

Amirudin said for 2020, the state expected revenue is RM2.2billion — comprising land premium of RM968.4 million (44.02 per cent), property tax of RM568.21 million (25.83 per cent) and allocation from the Federal government of RM224.84 million (10.22 per cent).

He said the state 2020 budget underlines the five strategies of Generating Growth and Empowerment of the State Economy, Planning of an Uplifted Education Agenda, Creating a Safe and Healthy Selangor, Guaranteed Environmental Sustainability, and Championing Social Sustainability.
