MB: Selangor committed to honouring people’s mandate

SHAH ALAM, Feb 25 — The Selangor government has pledged its commitment to continue honouring the people’s mandate and carrying out the agendas that would benefit the state and its people, says its Menteri Besar in a statement today.

Following an audience for several state leaders with the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah this morning, Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the Ruler was satisfied with the explanation given on the Selangor government’s commitment.

“His Royal Highness was satisfied with the explanation that the current state government would continue its commitment to honouring the mandate given by the people of Selangor in the last general election.

“His Royal Highness had consented the Selangor government to function and run as usual,” said Amirudin, who is also the Selangor PKR Leadership Council chairman.

Two others who were granted an audience with the state Ruler at the Istana Bukit Kayangan, here this morning, were DAP Selangor chairman Gobind Singh Deo and Amanah Selangor chairman Izham Hashim.

Amirudin added that he had already met with the chairman from the component parties in the state, including Selangor Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari, to discuss on the direction of the state administration.
