Don’t brag about violating MCO

PUTRAJAYA, April 17 — Those bragging about violating the movement control order (MCO) or giving tips to influence others to do the same better watch out.

Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob today warned that they cannot escape the law.

“Yesterday we saw a picture that went viral on social media showing a family returning to Kuala Lumpur and giving tips how to get past roadblocks.

*I want to make it clear that police have identified them and action will be taken. So don’t brag about breaking the law in trying to be a hero because in the end, crime does not pay and it is you and your family who will suffer.

“No one can escape the law. What more if MCO violators themselves admit to breaking MCO rules and regulations,” he said at his daily briefing on the MCO here.

He was commenting on a photograph that went viral on social media. The caption said they succeeded in returning to Kuala Lumpur and got past a roadblock by claiming that they needed to send their child to the hospital.
