SHAH ALAM, April 21 — The Selangor government has introduced the Selangor Agro Market @ Controlled Fresh Market, which offers a drive-thru service to market fresh products at the community business centre in Bandar Baru Bangi.

Selangor Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Izham Hashim said customers would be able to place their orders a day earlier via Whatsapp at 011-33372170 from 8am to 3pm and pick up the items the following day.

“Customers can place their orders a day earlier and either pay online or when they pick up their products.

“Selangor Agro Market offers fresh products such as fish, chicken, vegetables and fruits at affordable prices,” he said in a statement yesterday.

The state government had initiated the programme on March 27 to ensure that the people have access to fresh produce during the movement control order (MCO) as well as to address the oversupply issue.

Since the launch of the programme until April 16, a total of RM3,819,040.05 sales value was recorded.

The initiative is currently available in nine locations — Holysmoke Cafe in Section 13, Shah Alam, Mak Uda Restaurant in Section 15, Shah Alam, Mad About Cafe in Petaling Jaya, FAMA Operations Centres in Dengkil, Puchong, Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam, the Selayang farmer’s market (pasar tani) and My Farm Outlet in Putrajaya.
