SHAH ALAM, May 7 — Nine positive Covid-19 cases were recorded in Selangor as of noon yesterday, which brings the total tally to 1,564.

Out of the total accumulated number, the state has recorded 1,288 total recoveries with 215 active Covid-19 cases.

One new fatality was reported, pushing the total deaths to 20.

“Overall, the situation remains the same in Selangor where there are 31 townships in the green zone, 24 in the yellow zone, and only one township classified a red zone (Batu).

“Three districts are in the red zone while the remaining (six) are in the yellow zone,” the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) said on Facebook last night.

According to the statistics provided by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre of the Selangor State Health Department, the three red zones are Gombak with 86 active cases, Petaling (48) and Hulu Langat (45).

The Sepang district is one case away from becoming a green zone.

“The modified conditional movement control order in Selangor involves the mandatory use of face masks. This means social distancing, good personal hygiene, and wearing a face mask are all part of the main preventive measures in the state.

“We have to fight this together to safeguard the health of the people,” the task force said.

Yesterday, Malaysia saw an increase of 135 Covid-19 recoveries, which is triple that of the 45 new confirmed cases.

This pushes the total recoveries to 4,702 or 73.15 per cent out of the 6,428 accumulated cases in the country. There are 1,619 active Covid-19 cases recorded.
