Over RM130mil from Covid-19 Musa’adah fund spent

KAJANG, May 5 — More than RM130 million from the Covid-19 Musa’adah Fund has been spent to help those affected by Covid-19 pandemic since it was launched on March 24.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri said among the beneficiaries of the fund included mosque imam, Kafa teachers and Orang Asli people.

“Today (yesterday) we visit prison inmates and staff. A total of RM19,000 has been donated from this fund,” he told reporters after the ‘Ziarah Sahabat Penjara’ programme at Kajang Prison here yesterday.

Also present were Prisons director-general Datuk Seri Zulkifli Omar and Kajang Prison director Abdul Halim Ma Hasan.

Kajang Women’s Prison, Sungai Buloh Prison, Seremban Prison and Maktab Penjara Malaysia also benefited from the fund.
