“However, Selangor recorded 710 dengue cases during the epidemic week 19, which saw an 11 per cent decline compared to the previous week. In the same period, no deaths were reported, meaning the death toll to remain at 27,” she wrote on her official Facebook account.

Meanwhile, five locations were identified as dengue hotspots, which include recreational parks, public areas, vacant lots, factories or warehouses and garbage disposal areas.

Siti Mariah had urged the public, especially those in the dengue hotspots, to take precautionary measures and adhere to the guidelines outlined by the Health Ministry to curb both dengue and Covid-19 outbreak.

“Please take precautionary measures such as using the mosquito repellents and keeping the surroundings clean in order to prevent Aedes mosquitoes from breeding in your home,” she said.
