Air Selangor: Water tankers mobilised to areas affected by water cuts

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, July 14 — Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) has begun mobilising water tankers to areas affected by the scheduled water supply disruption today, starting with critical areas such as hospitals and dialysis centres.

As for housing areas, water tankers will be mobilised on Thursday and Friday.

Air Selangor will activate eight local service centres (PKS) and provide six public water pipes from July 16 to 17 to help affected customers.

Due to the upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3) water treatment plant (LRA) beginning 9am today, which will cause operations to be shut down, 290 areas in Petaling, Klang, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Langat will experience water cuts until July 17 (Friday).

The upgrading involves the replacement of several main valves in the network to increase the effectiveness of the system and to enable it to run better.

The SSP3 LRA is expected to resume operations on July 15 (Wednesday) at 9am, and water supply is expected to be fully restored at 5pm on Friday.

The recovery times of the water supply varies depending on the locations.
