Pump price for petrol, diesel drops

SHAH ALAM, July 3 — Fuel prices will drop across the board for the July 4 – 10 period, after seeing a steady increase since May 16.

The Finance Ministry in a statement today said the price of RON97 petrol would be set at RM1.95 per litre, down four sen from RM1.60.

RON95 also drops four sen to RM1.65 per litre from RM1.69.

Diesel is down two sen to RM1.84 per litre from the previous price of RM1.86

“The decline in the retail price of petroleum products is due to changes in refined product prices, in line with current crude oil prices.

“The Government will continue to monitor the impact of global crude oil price change and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the people,” the statement read.

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on January 5 last year under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).
