Hishammuddin apologises for vaping in Dewan Rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 7 — Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein today apologised for smoking an e-cigarette in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday.

The Sembrong Member of Parliament also promised not to repeat his mistake.

“Regarding the issue involving me today (viral video of vaping), I admit it was my mistake. Once again I apologise to the honourable House and all Malaysians. I promise not to repeat the mistake.

“I have always maintained that no one is above the law. The Ministry of Health has compounded me and I will pay the fine. Thank you all for your comment and advice,” he said on his Facebook yesterday night.

Hishammuddin had made a similar apology on his Twitter account earlier.

A nine-second video clip showing Hishammuddin sneaking a puff while wearing a face mask in the House went viral on social media today, drawing various reactions from netizens.
